How do I get insurance?

Updated yesterday

Insurance terms are determined by the provider and are included in the rate conditions. You cannot add insurance types at will, but you can use filters to find a suitable option.

Excess – client's liability limit in case of car damage.

Types of Insurance:

  • Basic with excess

This type of insurance limits the maximum amount a client pays to the rental company in case of damage (the excess amount).

Example: If the maximum excess is €1,500, the client pays only €1,500 even if the damage amounts to €5,000.

Important: The insurance provider does not reimburse the excess amount. Additional insurance for windows and tyres can be purchased separately at the rental desk.

  • Refundable excess

This type of insurance means that the insurance provider reimburses the client for the excess amount after the car is repaired, provided the client submits proof of payment.
This insurance also covers damage to windows and tires.
The rental company withholds the damage amount from the driver’s card — either the actual damage cost (if lower than the excess) or the full excess amount (if the damage equals or exceeds the excess). To receive a reimbursement from the insurance provider, the client must submit payment documents proving the amount was paid to the rental company.

  • Zero excess

Zero excess insurance, also known as full coverage, means that the insurance provider covers all bodywork repair costs.
Additional insurance for windows and tyres can be purchased separately at the rental desk.

The type and amount of insurance coverage will be specified in the tariff conditions.

What else should I know?

  • Any insurance type does not cover damage to the car interior. Clients are fully responsible for interior damage, including smoking-related damage.
