What should I know before booking low-cost airlines?

Updated this week

Before booking low-cost airline tickets, please consider the following:

  • E-ticket issuing:

Ticket issuing for low-cost carriers may take longer.

  • Refunds and exchanges:

Low-cost airline tickets most of the time cannot be refunded or exchanged due to airline policy, if not stated otherwise. Please check it carefully before booking

  • Booking documentation:

Some low-cost bookings may require you to present proof of payment (e.g., a screenshot of a virtual bank card used by our supplier). This document will be attached to your confirmation email — please print it and inform travelers that they must bring it to the airport.

  • Baggage:

Most low-cost fares do not include checked luggage. You can add baggage for each passenger as an extra service during booking.

  • Short payment time limits:

Low-cost fares must be paid and issued within 15 minutes of booking.

How can I identify low-cost airlines?

To identify low-cost airlines:

  • Look for the airline name on the price card at the bottom of each flight option.

  • Move your cursor over the fare description symbol to see a pop-up with fare details, including whether the flight is operated by a low-cost airline.
