How to set up referral links

  1. Open the Links and widgets tab.

  2. Generate a link to the main page, hotel, or city in the Link generator section.

Main page

This link will take customers to the RateHawk main page with your partner identifier. To create it:

  1. Select the search result's currency and language.

  2. Add a UTM tag* if you would like to trace click-throughs for statistics.

  3. Click Generate link.

  4. Copy the link that appears under the button by clicking on the Copy symbol.

City page

This link directs customers to a webpage of hotels in a specific city. To create it:

  1. Begin entering the name of the city or region; the system will suggest suitable options.

  2. Choose specific dates (optional). Leaving this field blank opens a webpage without dates.

  3. Choose the number of adults and children, along with the children’s age (optional). The final cost for a family will then be reflected in the results.

  4. Choose the currency and language for the search results

  5. Add a UTM tag* if you would like to trace click-throughs for statistics.

  6. Click Generate link.

  7. Copy the link that appears under the button by clicking on the Copy symbol.

Hotel page

This link directs customers to a specific hotel. To create it:

  1. Start entering the name of the hotel; the system will suggest suitable options. If you can’t find the desired hotel among the suggestions, copy the name from RateHawk and paste it into the search bar.

  2. Choose specific dates (optional). Leaving this field blank will open a webpage without dates.

  3. Choose the number of adult guests and children, along with their ages (optional). The final cost for a family will then be reflected in the results.

  4. Choose the currency and language for the search results.

  5. Add a UTM tag* if you would like to trace click-throughs for statistics.

  6. Click Generate link.

  7. Copy the link that appears below the button by clicking on the Copy symbol.

*The UTM tag is a tool that conveys information about the source of traffic to the analytics system. It enables tracking the source from which a customer arrived at your website, such as from a specific page or blog post. The tags you use will be reflected in the “Orders” tab.

How to create or edit a widget

How to create a widget

  1. Open the Links and widgets tab.

  2. Click Create to open the Widget constructor.

  3. Choose a name for the widget — it will only be displayed in your office.

  4. Choose the language in which the search results will be reflected after transferring from the widget.

  5. Choose sizes in the Widget width field. If you don’t know which width you need, select Standard — this is the universal version of the widget that adapts to the window size. The remaining parameters are fixed.

  6. Check the Product logo box if you would like to add the RateHawk logo to your widget.

  7. Check the Indents box if you want to add an indent between the widget's borders and the window's borders.

After saving, you will be redirected to the Links and widgets tab. In the upper section, you will see all the widgets you’ve created.

How do I set the color of the widget

  1. Click on the parameters of color design to see a palette. You can choose from one of the suggested colors or set shades manually.

  2. Select the color you need and click “OK” on the palette. The changes will be displayed in the Form preview section.

  3. Click Save.

After saving, you will be redirected to the Links and widgets tab. In the upper section, you will see all the widgets you’ve created.

How to create a code for insertion on a website

  1. Click on the name of the widget you need. Its code will be specified in the window that has opened up.

  2. Click on the copy symbol to the right.

How to edit or delete a widget

  1. Open the “Links and Widgets” tab and find the widget you need.

  2. Click on the “Edit” symbol if you would like to make changes. Important: if this widget is already on the website, the changes will be displayed.

  3. Click on the “Delete” symbol if you would like to delete the widget.

How to test a link or a widget

For testing, use the Test Hotel (Do Not Book) specially created for this purpose. ID: test_hotel.

To test a referral link:

  1. Choose a link, for example, Hotel page.

  2. Enter Test Hotel (Do Not Book) in the “Hotel name” field.

  3. Click Generate link.

  4. Follow the link that’s been created.

  5. Choose any room with free cancellation and payment on the spot without entering a bank card at the time of booking.

  6. Enter the booking details and complete it.

If the test is successful, you will receive a voucher by email, and the booking will appear in the Orders section.

To test a widget:

  1. Create the widget you need.

  2. Place the widget on your website.

  3. Enter Test Hotel (Do Not Book) in the “Hotel name” field.

  4. Choose any room with free cancellation and payment on the spot without entering a bank card at the time of booking.

  5. Enter the booking details and complete it.

If the test is successful, you will receive a voucher by email, and the booking will appear in the Orders section.

Be sure to delete the test booking. Use the cancellation link in the confirmation mail or via your Personal Account on RateHawk. If you are unable to cancel the booking, please contact your account manager or email the customer support center at [email protected] with the order number.

Do not use any of the following as the client’s contact details when testing:

  • An email address connected to RateHawk or an affiliate office

  • Incorrect information, for example, a selection of letters instead of a name or a phone number, such as 11111111111.

The system will mark such bookings as fraudulent, and your email address will end up on the blacklist.
